Disparate Style

So... it's been awhile since my last post, almost two weeks.

Since I have been trying to take the last two weeks to relax - but have already been to Vancouver and back - I promised myself that this past week would be dedicated to watching runway videos from NYFW, which ended on the 16th. And in that case I'd have a crap load to blog about... Too bad I was unsuccessful.

Instead I spent an amazing couple of days in Vancouver, on a long over due visit to my best friend! The shopping was amazing - almost too much to handle - and the whole city was just insane. Give me 10 years and I'll be living in the Vancouver hills ;)

While on my all day everyday shopping spree with my bestie, I picked up some sweet UNIF schwagggg.

Switchin' Gears to Biker Chic

I found these pictures on my favourite fashion blog, Oracle Fox, from an editorial in Elle Norway's February 2012 issue.

I love how the clothing is biker chic and girly, but super edgy. Being a Harley girl myself, I think the editorial shows the perfect mix between the prevalent biker culture and fashion.

When I go riding with my family or friends, everyone is completely decked out in Harley-Davidson clothing and leather. I always switch it up between my mom's vintage custom made grey, black and red leather jacket, and a black leather vest from Danier.

My mom's jacket was made in the 80's by a local Winnipeg leather designer named Linda Leathers. My parents said that every rider had a Linda Leathers jacket back then, and I'm lucky enough that it matches the colours of my motorcycle, and it fits me like a glove.

Palamino Pony

Yes, it's true. Jeffrey Campbell and Wildfox Couture mated and have given birth to the Wildfox SS12 look book! The look book features Sgt. Pepper, the Lonestar, and the Dallas, which are all from JC and Wildfox's upcoming collaboration. There are also some other vintage shoes used in the shoot that are not JC's, but are just as cute. If this is the result of their first parturition, I will prepare to be breathless during the birth of their second.

Girls on Film

I wanted to keep it brief this week, since I am crazy busy with life & school, you know all that jazz. The new M.I.A. video for Bad Girls came out this week, and I have to say it's pretty bad ass. 

Another video that I love that came out last year is Duran Duran's video for Girl Panic! Supermodels Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford, and Eva Herzigova, star in the video to impersonate Duran Duran band members.
